  1. External perimeter protectionActive Infra RedMotion sensors Farshid Ossareh December 2004

  2. 1 principle Theory Working Switching Visibility Fog discrimination 1 – Beginning: The audience challenge

  4. Working principle • Invisible IR signal beams between transmitter and reciever over a protected distance Reciever Transmitter

  5. Working principle 2° Transmitter Reciever Transmitter send a light signal which is invisible to human (infrared signal wave of 900nm). Reciever act as a elctronic eye, analyze the amplitude of the signal send by transmitter

  6. Working principle • Not sensitive to rain • Not sensitive to any movement doesn’t cut the beams • Not sensitive to EM wave and signals 2° Transmitter Reciever

  7. Ch 1 Ch1 Ch 2 Ch 2 Communication principle Pulsed beams and selectable channels • Channels are made by pulse frequency Ch1 Ch2 Ch3 Ch4 Rec Trans • Receiver on ch1 will only see the Transmitter on ch1 & …

  8. Switching principle SB250 / SB2100 • Communication princple: Pulsed beams and selectable channels • Rotection zone is about 20cm • Both beams needs to be intruppted to trigger the alarm

  9. Switching principle SB450 / SB4100 / SB4200 • Communication princple: Pulsed beams and selectable channels • Rotection zone is about 40cm • Both beams needs to be intruppted to trigger the alarm

  10. Visibilty diagram • Geneal rule: the range is equal to visibilty on site. • The SB series range • Theoretical max range: 2550m • When the visibility is 200m, the range will be 200m • When the visibility is 60m (fog), the range will be 60m AIR Range 200m 100m 50m If the average visibility during the normal fog is 80m, it is recommended not to install a 100 or 200m product. 80m 50m 100m 200m Visibility

  11. Fog dectection • Receiver analyse the signal power

  12. Fog dectection • When the signal amplitude at the reciever reaches the minimun level the disqualification relay will be triggered,

  13. Spec. Feature If the alarm relays are connected in serie and there is a steady obstruction, the AIR beam will release the alarm relay and trigger disqualication relay. Alarm relay (NC) Max 60 s Disq relay (NO)

  14. 2 Range Selection Modular beams Modular pillars 1 – Beginning: The audience challenge

  15. How to select the products Perception to detection Perimeter Detection On price Low risk Perimeters high walls Perimeters rond the building High risk Big factories Mid Risk Garage/Concession Small factory

  16. External perimeter protection Active Infra RedMotion sensors • Modular AIR beams

  17. SB250 / SB21002 beams • Range: SB250 125m indoor 50m outdoor • SB2100 250m indoor 100m outdoor • 4 channel selection • Thermostaic contrlled heater on board • Protection hight: 20cm Tx Ch 1 Rx Ch 1 Tx Ch 2 Rx Ch 2 Tx Ch 3 Rx Ch 3 Tx Ch 4 Rx Ch 4

  18. SB450 / SB4200 4 beams • Range: SB250 125m indoor 50m outdoor • SB2100 250m indoor 100m outdoor • 4 channel selection • Thermostaic contrlled heater on board • Protection hight 40cm Tx Ch 1 Rx Ch 1 Tx Ch 2 Rx Ch 2 Tx Ch 3 Rx Ch 3 Tx Ch 4 Rx Ch 4

  19. External perimeter protection Active Infra RedMotion sensors • Mounted in Pillars

  20. Mounted in pillars • To increase the protection hight, SB beams can be mounted in a mouting pillars. • Available in : 1m, 1.5m, 2m, 2.5m, 3m

  21. Back to back moting • Both sides of the pillars can be used for the back to back mounting

  22. 3 1 – Beginning: The audience challenge Installation

  23. Beam alignement • Horizontal alignment Vertical alignement

  24. Power supply cable selction Cable lengthe for power supply of 12V DC Cable lengthe for the heater of 12V DC/AC In case the mentioned cable lengthe/diameter limits your installation, use the optional 230VAC power supply (SB52)

  25. Installation guideline • The protected area should not cut any beams

  26. Maximum 10° Installation guideline • Max 10° as accepted for the correct functionality

  27. Installation guidelines • Fence is the best physical perimeter protection which keep the large animals away

  28. Installation guidelines • No vegeation my be between the Tx and Rx

  29. 4 Application 1 – Beginning: The audience challenge
