EPPIC PURPOSE • A forum for networking and developing entrepreneurial opportunities for professionals from the Indian sub-continent in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Related Industries (PBRI). • A forum for establishing ties with PBRI’s and educational institutions in the Indian sub-continent, and creating opportunities for mutual benefit. • A resource for students aspiring careers in PBRI’s in the U.S.

EPPIC AUDIENCE PROFILE IN THE BAY AREA • Currently > 250 individuals on the distribution list from over 65 companies • Represents a diversity of experiences • Technical Expertise in emerging and established technologies • Entrepreneurs and Executives in both small and large companies • A young, energetic group keen on developing new ventures and opportunities

  5. EPPIC - SUMMARY • Started March 1998. Founders: Narmada Shenoy, Nurjehan Jivani, Seema Handu, Shabbir Anik • 4 meetings to date with attendance ranging from 80 - 90 persons • Registered as a non-profit organization September 98 • Over 50 members and 7 Charter members • Enthusiastic support for the organization from attendees

AP - EPPIC COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES • ENTREPRENEURIAL • Research units/subsidiaries that complement research efforts in the U.S. and speed up the product development cycle • Contract laboratories supplying specialized services to PBRI’s in the U.S. • Converting research findings to business ventures by access to entrepreneurs and Venture Capital in the Bay Area
