LAST YEAR OVER €3 MILLION PAID & RESERVED. • THIS YEAR’S PAYOUT LOOKS LIKE €1.5M APPROX. • ONLY SAVING GRACE IS THAT OUR 5 YEAR RECORD IS BETTER. • MAIN WORRIES ARE WATER( FLOODING/BURST PIPES), FIRE AND BREAK INS. • WE CAN EXPECT A RISE IN PREMIUM. • OUR HOUSE KEEPING HAS TO IMPROVE!

GAA INSURANCE WORK GROUP 2009 GAA LIABILITY INSURANCE • COVERS EMPLOYERS & PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE • WE SELF FUND UP TO €1.5MILLON • INCLUDES FAS SCHEMES RUN BY CLUBS ON GAA PROPERTY • ALL CLUBS SHOULD HAVE A HEALTH & SAFETY STATEMENT. • CLUBS SHOULD CONFORM WITH ANY NSAI STANDARDS INTRODUCED, SUCH AS I.S 356/357-2007 – GOALPOSTS & I.S355 - HELMETS

GAA INSURANCE WORK GROUP 2009 LEASED PROPERTY • LEASED PROPERTY – CLUBS SHOULD NOT ENTER A LEASE FOR MORE THAN 4 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS • THE LESSEE SHOULD PRODUCE EVIDENCE OF THEIR EL & PL COVERS WITH INDEMNITY LIMITS OF €13M & €6.5M RESPECTIVELY AND IT SHOULD INCLUDE A SPECIFIC INDEMNITY TO CLG/CLUB.

GAA INSURANCE WORK GROUP 2009 HIRERS POLICY • ANNUAL POLICY PUT IN PLACE WITH EFFECT FROM 01.01.09 • THE POLICY IS AIMED AT CLUBS WITH FACILITIES FOR HIRE AND TO ELIMINATE NON GAA CLAIMS FROM THE MAIN GAA POLICY. • IT DOES NOT ELIMINATE THE REQUIREMENT THAT ORGANIZATIONS ,SUCH AS, AEROBICS OR ART CLASSES SHOULD PRODUCE EVIDENCE OF THEIR INSURANCE WITH SIMILAR LIMITS AND INDEMNITIES MENTIONED EARLIER. • THE POLICY IS SUBJECT TO A €1,500 EXCESS EACH AND EVERY CLAIM.

GAA INSURANCE WORK GROUP 2009 EXCLUDED ACTIVITIES • CIRCUSES/FAIRGROUNDS • BOUNCY CASTLES/BUNGEE JUMPING/INFLATABLES AND /OR TRAMPOLINES • ANIMAL SHOWS • COMMERCIAL DISCOS • ROCK/POP CONCERTS • MOTORISED SPORTS OR RACING • PARACHUTE JUMPING/ABSEILING OR ROCK CLIMBING OR OTHER DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES • FIREWORKS DISPLAYS. • CLG WILL EXAMINE EACH REQUEST ON A CASE BY CASE BASIS

GAA INSURANCE WORK GROUP 2009 LIABILITY UPDATE 2009 • THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID AND O/S SINCE THE INCEPTION OF THE POLICY IS CURRENTLY RUNNING AT €29M • PAYMENTS SINCE THIS TIME LAST YEAR IS STAND AT €1.8M. THIS EXCEEDS THE CURRENT DEDUCTIBLE OF €1.5M • CLAIMS REPORTED THIS YEAR ARE 33% UP ON IMS REPORTED CLAIMS THIS TIME LAST YEAR • THE ABOVE FIGURES CONFIRM THE NEED FOR US TO BE MORE VIGILANT IN MANAGING OUR FACILITIES AND THUS REDUCE CLAIMS.
