"Large" floods - i.e. causing risk to life and health; damage of structures; losses beyond the capacity of the local system; in the last decade - two such floods 1.2. "Small" flooding - a nuisance incurring material losses (crop losses, petty repairs), often not compensated for by the insurance (too small and vague losses); in some locations (Morów) - even several times a year Responses: (i) walling - wherever missing or inadequate; (ii) relief channel; (iii) reservoir on the boundary

Water quality 2.1. persisting bacteriological pollution, apparently originating from the other side of the border (against the background of general improvement) 2.2. pollution events (single discharges, usually from small-scale industrial plants) - hard to track and penalise 2.3. de-naturalization of the course on several segments (tourism, sports fishing) Responses: (i) short-cut collector pipe from Mikulovice to below the Głuchołazy intake; (ii) groundwater intake at some "safe" location; (iii) improvement of the wastewater treatment plant in Mikulovice; (iv) land use control measures; (v) effective tracking models and systems Agriculture is not using water for irrigation. There is no (essential) water quantity problem.
