  2. Why use proper punctuation? • The miss use of punctuation can cause confusion and some times a misunderstanding. • Ex. Is the dog in his cage! (This seems like you are making an exotic statement rather then asking a question).

  3. How to use a comma • You use a comma between elements (including before andor) in a series of three or more items. • Ex. I received a dog, computer, and a TV for Christmas this year.

  6. Periods. • The period is the workhorse of punctuation. Like a great dessert, it's always welcome at the end. Here's how to use periods: • Use a period after a complete sentence. • Example: A hangover is the wrath of grapes. • Use a period after a command. • Example: Please close the door behind you. • Use a period after most abbreviations. • Examples: Dr., Ms., Jr.
