  2. Setup • SL8500 tape library, 10K slots for T1 • 18 T10KA • 9 T10KB • 14 T10KC • SL8500 Tape library, 10K slots for facilities • 3 9940B • 16 T10KA • 10 T10KB • 10 T10KC

  3. Repack • Single head node running all repack “bits” • 4 DEL R510 12 bay disk servers as disk cache • 900GB 10K SAS drive, 23GB memory • Raid6 • Part of 10Gb network • Tape drives dedicated as required • Running 2.1.12-10

  4. Repack - LHCb • Used to migrate all of LHCb’s data • 2334 A tapes • ~1PB data • Took about 1 month • Only one tape found with errors, 4 files lost

  5. Repack - performance • Graph shows network for the 4 disk servers during repacking

  6. Repack - Performance • This shows performance for write to one of the C tape drives

  7. Other • Repack • Will our setup scale to cope with D drives? • Support for D drives • Any CDK development now Oracle have “new” version.
