Social intuition is the lifeline that saves most of us on a daily basis from an array of potentially disastrous social situations. It also helps us navigate situations that could be physically or mentally harmful. The hidden curriculum refers to the set of rules or guidelines that are often not directly taught but are assumed to be known (Garnett, 1984; Hemmings, 2000); Jackson , 1968; Kanpol, 1989.

“ Hidden Curriculum”?Practical Solutions for Understanding Unstated Rules in Social Situations
We are surrounded on a daily basis by such unstated rules or customs that make the world a confusing place. This is known as the hidden curriculum.
The hidden curriculum refers to the set of rules or guidelines that are often not directly taught but are assumed to be known.
( Garnett, 1984; Hemming, 2000; Jackson, 1968; Kanpol, 1989).
Techniques and Strategies
Instructions is the key to helping individuals with social-cognitive challenges understand the hidden curriculum as many do not learn these items incidentally.
Because of the wide range of hidden curriculum items , it is essential that a variety of instructional strategies be available for educators, therapist, and parents to use.
The techniques and strategies presented in the following pages provide a structure within which to teach or interpret the meaning of the hidden Curriculum.
