  2. Make Sure Career Entries Are Up-To-Date • Professional Experience Suggestions • Check to see if current position is listed • Check if all past positions have end dates • Are any positions missing? • Are there any gaps?

  3. Make Sure Memberships Are Up-To-Date • Professional Membership Suggestions • Are any new Professional Organization Memberships missing? • Add end dates to Organizations that your faculty member is no longer a member of • Enter committee work under service

Make Sure Publications Are Up-To-Date Publication Categories Supported • Journal Article • Letter • Newspaper Article • Patent • Poster • Report • Review • Video/Film/CD/Web/Podcast • Other • Abstract • Book • Book Chapter • Book Review • Case Report • Commentary • Conference Proceedings • Edited Book • Editorial

  5. Publication Suggestions • □ Request a download---After download is complete, review the Download Manager to “Accept” publications that belong to your faculty member or “Reject” publications that do not belong to him/her Publications: Download Manager

Publication Suggestions Continued • Check for duplicate publications • Add new book chapters, abstracts, posters, etc. (or any other publications that did not download) • Have any “Pending Publications” been published? If so, add the publication date. • Enter new pending publications (“in press” & “accepted”) • Watch for peer-reviewed vs non peer-reviewed • Refresh any Epub’s that have now been published in hard copy

Make Sure Funding Entries Are Up-To-Date Funding: Search Screen • Funding Suggestions • Check statuses – update Pending grants to “Active” or “Unfunded” • Check if your faculty member’s role is accurate • Check if dollar amounts are correct; if not, you can self-enter • Are all current grants showing? If not, hand enter new grants • Check for duplicates: OSP vs. Hand Entered • Are titles and sponsors correct? • Do your faculty member’s collaborators have new grants? Are collaborators listed on their grants?

Make Sure Presentations Entries Are Up-To-Date • Presentations Suggestions • Check to make sure your Presentations list is current • Review Presentation Type assignments • Invited/Visiting Professor • Keynote/Plenary Lecture • Meeting Presentation • Peer-Reviewed Presentations • Is the Activity Scope correct? Activities are grouped by scope on the CV. • International • National • Local/Regional • Remember that some “Presentations” may belong under Teaching Activities • Who is the audience?

Make Sure Education Entries Are Up-To-Date Education Categories • Educational Lectures • Didactic Lectures • Department/Division Conferences • Continuing Education • CE Courses Developed • CE Courses Taught • Education Administration • Other Educational Activities • Course and Curriculum Development • Courses Directed • Courses Taught • Clinical Teaching • Laboratory Teaching • Small Group Teaching • Trainee Supervision • Graduate Student Committees

Education Suggestions • For Primary Instructors: Check to see if new course activities are showing in Courses Taught • Hand enter any new courses you are teaching that are not showing • Select from the course catalog to pre-populate OR • Self-enter • Don’t forget to enter other forms of teaching • Trainee Supervision • Graduate Student Committees • Clinical Teaching • Small Group Teaching • Laboratory Teaching • Continuing Education

Service • Service Suggestions • Remember the difference between Internal and External • Remember the category or level that the activity belongs in • Add any new activities you are currently involved in • Add end dates to activities that you are no longer involved in • Check to see if your role has changed

  13. Administrative Duties Suggestions Definition: Highlighted administrative experience which could also be reflected within career or service. (Only place where duplication is allowed, but the entries should not be identical. Administrative Duties entry should describe administrative aspects of activity.) • Has your faculty member taken on any new administrative responsibilities? • Should some of the current administrative duties be removed in light of new responsibilities? • Administrative Duties can also be listed in Career or Service • How can your faculty member emphasize the Administrative aspect of the activity for this section?

Last But Not Least • Don’t Forget • Editorial Experience • Grant Review/Study Section • Symposium/Meeting Chair/Coordinator • Start early • Allow plenty of time for faculty and department review • Include everything but do not duplicate (with one exception) • Remember collaborative activities • Remember the reviewers • They have 210+ CV’s to review • Make it clear, easy to read … do not make them dig • Help them to help your faculty member get promoted, etc.

(something you want more )
