Network Centric Warfare • Network Centric Warfare is about networking, not about technical networks • NCW doesn’t focus on technologies but on organizations and organizational behavior • NCW is actually more a state of mind than a concrete reality • NCW doctrines will support gaining and maintaining the necessary information superiority C4I M&S Interoperation

Global Information Grid • The Global Information Grid is defined in DODD 8100.1 • The GIG is the technical vehicle of NCW • The GIG will be globally interconnected, end-to-end set of information capabilities, associated processes, and personnel for collecting, processing, storing, disseminating and managing information on demand to Warfighters, policy makers, and support personnel C4I M&S Interoperation
