  2. Won A Number of Awards Unity Care is a nonprofit service provider lending support to youth in foster care through housing solutions and other transitional services. The solutions are developed to support foster youth aging out of the system and reduce homelessness. Founded in 1993, Unity Care has won a number of awards including GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency, Wells Fargo Award for Excellence, and many others. Unity Care is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation, an independent nonprofit accreditor of human services.

The goal of Unity Care is to provide support to every child and family by embracing the 1-Child, 1-Plan philosophy. The group promotes unity and effective teamwork, supporting foster youths in their quest for self-sufficiency.

The group was founded in 1993 and provides life skills, support, stable housing, caring connections, and other programming to assist youth in attaining self-sufficient living. Housing and programs are available to foster youth ranging in age from 16 to 21 in El Dorado, Placer, San Mateo, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Alameda, Nevada and Monterey counties.

Unity Care Provides Support Services Unity Care provides support services and housing solutions to youth aging out of the system to help reduce homelessness in foster care and enhance the chances for successful, independent living. Safe, secure, and affordable housing options are offered to transitional aged foster youth (16-24). Further resources and support services are integrated into that transition to ensure well-being and encourage success. Unity Care strives to create a home-like environment where youth and families feel safe as well as protected.
