  2. Thinking about setting up a business in the steel industry? Well, coking coal is going to be your first business partner for the success of your business. Coking coals are the coals required in the manufacturing process of steel as they are used to produce coke. It occurs in the earth’s crust as a sedimentary rock naturally. Coke is produced by burning coking coals in a reducing atmosphere. The final quality of coke that you obtain will depend on how fine the quality of the coking coal used was. Let’s give you a quick tour of why you should prefer coking coal.

  3. Benefits of Coking coal: • Caking Ability: There are many superior quality coals available in the market that you could use for coke production; however, the coking coal can cake, which means when heated, the coking coal becomes plastic and fuses with itself before solidifying as coke particles. This is important to produce coke. • Blast furnace friendly: good quality coke is a boom for the life of a Blast furnace. The increase in the sizes of Blast furnaces due to the increased steel industry requires good quality coke that in turn need coking coal. Thus, high-quality coke also maximizes the productivity of Blast furnaces.

  4. Low moisture, ash, and Sulphur content: Coking coal is also known as Metallurgical coal. • Usually, the bituminous rank coal, thereby possessing low moisture. Lo moisture content is considered a good trait as those coals will give you a much more calorific value of per capita burned. These coals also have low ash contents leaving little residue in the furnace and low Sulphur content leading to no emission of poisonous gases, which cause air pollution. • Available in various categories: Coking coal is available in about five categories: hard coking coal, semi-hard coking coal, semi-soft coking coal, and pulverized coal for injection. You can select as per your requirements.
