What are the assumptions in this question? We can tell the GVVP by looking at the fate of the central character/s in these texts. Therefore, the ending is a statement, so to speak, of the GVVP. The question above expresses this idea in terms of character “fulfilment”.

But……….how does all this fit in with Griet’s idea of fulfilment? Or does she even have a clear sense of what fulfilment would actually mean for her?
