  2. Progress Summary • Completed and turned in the first report • Built the circuit for the regular design of the transceiver module • Tested the receiver and transmitter • Started to solder in the parts for the aggressive design

  3. Completed Transceiver Board

  4. Oops!! might have blown up the PD!! • Got confused between the cathode and the anode • Grounded the cathode pin of the photodetector • Remedy: scratched off the connection between ground and cathode pin, reversed the PD on the board

  6. Transmitter Test Results

  7. However… • When constructing the board initially, we soldered in the common cathode VCSEL with the anode going to ground. • After we fixed this, no signal was transmitting
