  7. Classroom Consequences • Warning • Sign Behavior Log • Loss of recess • Behavior Log goes home to be signed • Detention • Phone call home • Conference with principal, teacher and parent

  8. Student Expectations • Increased responsibility • Increased instructional pace • Increased technology use • More independent work • Reading to learn • Late work will not be accepted

Cirrculum Language Arts • Multi paragraph compositions (opinion, informational, and narrative) • Comprehension of various genres of literature • Grade level vocabulary • Speaking and Listening Mathematics • Proficient in operations • Algebra: exponents and order of operations • Measurement • Problem Solving

  11. Physical Education • Students will participate in PE 4 days a week • Monday-Thursday 1:56-2:30 • Students are expected to dress accordingly • Missed days must be made up • Questions? Contact Mr. Sauerwald

  12. Music • Students may choose to join band or choir • Student responsible to complete missed classwork as additional homework • To participate in band and choir students must receive teacher approval and maintain good grades

Homework • Students are responsible for writing homework in planner • Students will complete missing or late work at recess • Missing work will be noted in planner About 1 hour of homework a night • Monthly book projects • Reports • Spelling • Vocabulary • Nightly Math homework • Reading log 20 min a night • Additional Studying

Grading Policy Homework/Classwork • Credit/no credit • Check = credit • Late and/or missing work will be noted in planner Projects/tests • Rubric Scores • 4 Advanced/ above grade level • 3 Proficient/ at grade level • 2 Basic/ approaching grade level • 1 Below Basic/ Does not meet standards Late projects will not be accepted

  16. Student Abences • Students are responsible for completing work missed • Students will receive one day per day out to complete work • “While You Were Out” slips
