  2. Introduction What animal can run as fast as a car on the freeway? What kind of wildcat can’t roar? The obvious answer to these questions is the cheetah!

  3. Home, Sweet, Home The cheetah lives in 4 hot places. Cheetahs live in Iran, Namibia, Tanzania, and in Kenya. They prefer savannas, deserts, and in tall grasses. They live in lairs and live along unless mating or have cubs.

  4. A Torpedo of Fur • Cheetahs are like a torpedo with short golden fur. Cheetahs weigh 100 to 130 pounds. Adult cheetahs stand 30 to 35 inches. It is 6 to 8 feet long!

  5. Physical Facts • Besides it’s color and body weight here is other facts about the cheetah. Cheetahs, like other cats, have excellent hearing and sight. They have an extra nasal to breathe and lines on face for the sun.

  6. A bullet of speed • As fast as a bullet cheetahs have a large chest and a small head. It has loose leg and hip joints for speed and a special padding on feet for running. They’re claws are dull and can’t be retracted.

  7. A Carnivore of the tall grasses • Cheetahs are carnivores with very sharp teeth. Cheetahs eat gazelles, kudus, wildebeest, antelope, zebra, impalas, fawns, hares, and ground birds. They would eat about 1 animal unless in a pack or group.

  8. A Baby is born! • It’s a miracle a baby cheetah is born! A cheetah would stay in gestation period for about 3 months. The mother will give birth to 3 to 5 cubs every time she is pregnant. They are born with long, gray fur. The cubs will stay with their mother until 6 weeks old.

  9. The Most Dangerous Predator • We are one of the most dangerous predators to the cheetah. Other predators are jackals, leopards, lions, and tigers and they steal meals. Hyenas and eagles take and eat cubs. Crude people kill the cheetahs for their hide.

  10. An Endangered Species • Cheetahs are an endangered species. Special care sites take care of cheetahs and some put a tracker collar on their neck to see what they are doing. They’re ratings from 1 to 5 for how endangered they are. 1 is least and 5 are greatest. Cheetahs are number 3 and that means they’re vulnerable.

  11. Conclusion • Doing research I learned some unusual trivia. Cheetahs have a special skin to camouflage themselves. However, if we don’t protect these animals they may be extinct for good. Just think if you were endangered and if you were going extinct. If you don’t like it don’t do it to the cheetah!
