Internal Mechanics Step-by-step mechanisms • Blue electromagnet is energised in each step • The size of the teeth determine the arc angle of the turn. • More teeth = more steps per rotation = more acuracy • Brush-Free
Logic Component • A driver is needed to take care of the logic for the operation of the driver. • The driver requires programming • Usually connected via RS-232 protocol (serial cable) [3-wire setup only allows for half-duplexing]
Communications • Example shows a full-duplex communication interface setup with an RS-485 interface • The device is a Motor+Driver Combo
Common Applications • CNC Machine • Machine Lathe • Robots with movings parts (arms) • A 3-motor setup could allow a robotic arm to measure environmental data at any point in a room. (positioning system)
