  1. 7 Black Gives Back “Be a superhero in your own community” House Warming Party 2009

  2. What is the House Warming Party? • 7 Black will We will put on Variety Show in January to raise money for elderly people to help heat their homes over the cold winter months.

  3. How can YOU get involved? • Each student will be part of a committee and take on at least ONE role in that committee

  4. Publicity Committee • Spreads the word about our event and our cause. This could include a KVTV segment, posters, talking at a school board meeting, etc. 7th grade Housewarming Bash

  5. Welcoming Committee • Designs programs for the event as well as selling tickets, passing out programs and encouraging people to attend.

  6. Performance Committee • Provides the entertainment for the evening. Can be traditional performances (musical, comedy, poetry readings, etc. but could also be funny skits or lip syncs) You should be comfortable being in the spotlight and willing to spend time preparing a good performance.

  7. Presenters of the cause • Create a video, PowerPoint, or skit to inform the audience why they are there. You presentation should show who is receiving the money and offer ways for audience members to help if they want to.

  8. Treasury Committee • Guardians of the money. You would handle ticket sales, donations, money collected for t-shirts or snacks sold at the event. Enjoying math is excellent, but not necessary.

  9. Crew Committee • Runs the show. You would handle lighting, sound, props, furniture, etc. You ensure everything is in the right place at the right time.

  10. Intermission Committee • Bakes treats to sell at intermission, works with parent volunteers and local businesses to help have baskets to raffle.

  11. Let’s help make this winter a warm winter for those in need!!!
