Be intentional • In order for an adjunct display to be effective, you have to convey that to the class so they know its more than just a worksheet. • Let them know it will be used in a discussion later, or for an exit slip at a later time. If they know it will need to be remembered for a later time, they will be more focused while completing it. • During the lesson, give little reminders about it. • “Consider this in completion of your display” • Or, fill it out with them! (Use a projector)
Things to consider • Strengths: engages student in topic/concept, uses multiple types of memory • Weaknesses: it is just another worksheet if not implemented with a later activity or discussion, can be too distracting from other content if students are too worried about filling it out during a lesson
