  3. Collaboration • Who are groups that you collaborate with? • Who are groups that you’d like to work with more? • What are you looking for in a partnership?

Wish List for Collaboration • Money? • Offsetting some of your cost can make or break a program. • People? • Having enough people to do the planning & day of work is essential. • Time? • Is the project too big for you? Bring in another group. • Resources? • Access to alumni? Materials? Physical space?

  5. Collaboration Planning • Brainstorm! • Review possible partners on OrgSync. • Talk logistics about your program! • Know your 5 W’s. • Work up a contract – be specific! • Hold up your end of the bargain!

  12. Publicity Timelines • Prior Semester (3 - 6 months out from event) • Confirm your details. Make sure it’s all in stone and ready to go! • 2 – 3 months • Create your marketing plan. Create all banners, give a ways and handbills. • 1 – 2 months • Begin initial advertising. Create banners, sell tickets, create Facebook events. • Advertise on ResLife Cinema, UC TV & The Echo • 2 – 4 weeks • Continue your push! Keep inviting members to FB, sell more tickets, put up more flyers and PR! • 1 – 2 weeks • Update Facebook and Twitter! Get the word out on campus! • Week of Event • Chalk on Campus! Post yard signs, have a lobby table, wear t-shirts!

  15. How to Make a Good Flyer • No more than 3 fonts • Don’t print up to the edge of the flyer • Pick a color scheme & stick with it! • Be sure you have permission for graphics! • Ask opinions, advice & proofread before print! • Use your resources! (ahem, Graphic Design students…)
