  2. Week 1 • Yippee! • Words related to how wonderful! How exciting!

  3. Ardent- adj • Full of passion and emotion • Only the most ardent of football fans braved the snow and bitter cold in the stands to cheer the team to victory!

  4. Ebullient- adj • Filled with a bubbly excitement • On New Year’s Eve, ebullient party goers in Times Square ring in the New Year.

  5. Effervescent- adj • Lively; full of uplifted spirit; vivacious • Champagne, which many people use to ring in the New Year, has an effervescent quality.

  6. Fervent- adj • Filled with passion or intensity • At the New Year’s Day celebration, the speaker made a fervent appeal for all the attendants to go forth and do good works.

  7. Zealous- adj • Filled with enthusiasm • A zealous Ravens’ fan, Jacquel got into a fist fight at lunch when someone questioned the superiority of her team.

  8. Week 2 • HeeHaww • Words related to being stubborn

  9. Dogmatic- adj • Strongly opinionated; bossy; no room for compromise • In the kennel, all the dogs were aware of the alpha dog from his dogmatic behavior, including growling and bared teeth.

  12. Resolve-noun • Firmness; determination • The boxer’s resolve allowed him to endure broken noses and ringing ears in order to hit the big time.

  13. Unwavering-adj • Firm and determined • Unwavering in his resolve, the boxer withstood every bloody blow to his already reconstructed face.
