  25. Other useful links in DegreeWorks Takes students to the CUNY Portal Login page. Frequently Asked Questions and Answers. Provides helpful links for students: Lehman’s College Website, Registrar’s Homepage, Academic Advisement Appointments, etc. Print the Degree Audit. Log out from the DegreeWorks system.

  26. The Office of the Registrar How is DegreeWorks beneficial for students? • It is a 24/7 program available via the Internet. Note: Compatible with Internet Explorer and Safari only. • Students learn the degree requirements as well as being able to identify the courses they must complete in order to earn their degree. • Students may view any holds/stops on their record. • Students can estimate how many semesters it will take them to graduate. • Students can experiment with potential Grade Point Average through the GPA calculator.

  27. The Office of the Registrar What is in it for advisors? • LESS PAPERWORK. • PROVIDES CONSISTENT INFORMATION No more “He said/She said”. DegreeWorks provides the same information to all students regarding their major requirements. Reminder: The Notes feature on DegreeWorks allows advisors to place a note on the student’s audit. These notes can serve as a reminder to the student and be helpful to other advisors that might meet with the same student.

  28. The Office of the Registrar What is in it for advisors? • ALLOWS FOR MORE MEANINGFUL ADVISEMENT SESSIONS Using DegreeWorks, and asking your students to review their audits before they meet with you, allows students to play an active role in the advising process. In addition, rather than just reviewing registration, you can spend more time talking about the student’s development, choices and future plans.

  29. The Office of the Registrar What can advisors do to help DegreeWorks function more efficiently? • Make sure to review your students’ major audits; you are the experts. ________________ • Provide clear information to students regarding the department’s major requirements. • Your suggestions for improvement are always welcome.

  30. The Office of the Registrar IMPORTANT REMINDER Note: The DegreeWorks advisement system tries its best to fit all of the “In Progress” (most recently registered) courses, sometimes moving other courses that previously fulfilled the requirements. For this reason, it is critical that users understand degree requirements. This issue should not be a cause for concern, as long as students are aware while planning their future registration(s). All courses will be properly applied during the official graduation review by the Graduation Auditors.
