Understanding Angels: Messengers of God and Their Role in Our Lives
Angels, derived from the Greek word for "messenger," are immortal, powerful beings created by God (Col. 1:16). They serve as divine messengers, executing God’s will on Earth, as shown in scriptures like 2 Samuel 24:15-16 and Revelation 7:1-2. Concerned with God’s plan of salvation (1 Peter 1:12), angels also observe human affairs and our behaviors (Heb. 1:14). Some angels have sinned and are among the unclean spirits, urging us to remain cautious and respectful (2 Pet. 2:10-11). Ultimately, we will be judged alongside angels (1 Cor. 6:1-5).
