  1. ANGELS

  2. Angel of God, My Guardian dear, for whom God’s love commits me here, everest day or night be at my side, to light and guard and rule and guide

  3.  The angels are entirely spiritual beings; They do not have material bodies, they are neither male or female.

  4. Angels have an intellect and a will, just like humans.

  5. The angels are ordered into nine “choirs” and are ranked according to their natural intelligence, far above human intelligence.

  6. The highest angel in rank of natural intelligence is Lucifer (Satan).

  7. Each individual angel has its own unique essence and is therefore a distinct species, as different from one another as trees, cows, and bees.

  8. Angels have personalities that differ from one another, similar to humans.  Angels are infused with a perfect knowledge of all created things, including human nature.

  9. Angels do not know particular events to occur in history, unless God wills that knowledge for a particular angel.  Angels do not know what graces God will give to certain humans; they can only infer it by observing the effects.

  10. Each angel was created for a specific task or mission, of which they received instantaneous knowledge at the moment of their creation.

  11. At the moment of their creation angels freely chose whether to accept or reject their mission, a choice forever locked into their will without remorse .

  12. Each human being from the moment of their conception has a Guardian Angel assigned to them by God to lead them to salvation.

  13. Human beings do not become angels when they die; rather, the saints in heaven will take the positions of the fallen angels who forfeited their place in heaven.

  14. Angels communicate with one another by passing concepts mind to mind; the higher intelligence angels can empower the intellect of the lower ones to grasp the concept being communicated

  15. Angels experience intense movements in their will, different from but similar to human emotions.

  16. Angels are far more active in the life of humans than we realize.

  17. God determines when and how angels can communicate with humans.

  18. Good angels help us to act in accord with our created nature as rational human beings, fallen angels the opposite

  19. Angels don’t move from location to location; they instantaneously act where they apply their intellect and will, which is why they’re depicted with wings.

  20. Angels can prompt and guide the thoughts of humans, but cannot violate our free will. Angels can take information from your memory and bring an image into your mind in order to influence you.

  21. Good angels bring to mind imagery that helps us do the right thing according to God’s will; the fallen angels the opposite.

  22. The degree and kind of temptation from fallen angels is determined by God according to what is necessary for our salvation.

  23. Angels don’t know what is happening in your intellect and will, but they can surmise it by watching our reactions, behavior, etc.

  24. Scripture tells us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses (Heb. 12:1) and suggests that we may be unaware of how angels are interacting with us at times (Heb. 13:2). Knowing these few facts about the angels and how they work can help us be more aware of their influence over our lives.

  25. We should pray to be able to recognize more clearly the promptings we receive from our Guardian Angels, so that we will choose the good with confidence and avoid that which is bad for us.

  26. Archangels are the second lowest “rank” of angels Traditionally, angels are divided into what is called “nine choirs.” This hierarchy is based on nine names of ranks of angels that are found in Sacred Scripture. Saint Gregory the Great listed these “choirs” in a homily: “We know on the authority of Scripture that there are nine orders of angels, viz., Angels, Archangels, Virtues, Powers, Principalities, Dominations, Throne, Cherubim and Seraphim…” (Hom. 34, In Evang.)

  27. Archangels are entrusted with delivering important messages to humans The lowest ranks of angels are the ones we are most familiar with as they are the ones who communicate or interact with us. Saint Michael is believed to be the angel who delivered God’s divine inspiration to St. John in the Book of Revelation and is known as the protector of the Church, guarding her from evil. Saint Michael is most widely known for his role in expelling the rebel angel Lucifer from heaven. Saint Gabriel is first mentioned in the Book of Daniel and helps Daniel in his mission on earth. Later on Gabriel appears to Zachariah and the Blessed Virgin Mary, delivering the greatest message ever, that God meant to Incarnate and set his tent with us.

  28. Saint Raphael is mentioned in the Book of Tobit, to heal Tobit and deliver Sarah from a demon. Raphael accomplished both acts, disguised as a human, guiding Tobias along the way and instructing him on what to do.

  29. 3) Archangels do not have wings, bodies or swords Unlike us, angels are pure spirits and do not possess anything material. On occasion they can look like a human, but it is only a façade. Dr. Peter Kreeft gives an excellent description in his book, Angels and Demons: “Because of their lack of bodies, angels do not occupy space like we do and move within our world without taking up space. The closest analogy to how angels move is like ‘electrons’ or in ‘quantum leaps.’ Angels ‘move instantaneously from one place to another without passing through any space or time in between.’” On the other hand, even though they do not have material bodies, they can impact and influence the material world. They are pure spirits (like God) and have such intelligence and mental power that they can move material things or assume the appearance of a body. How exactly that all transpires is a bit of a mystery. Saint Thomas Aquinas goes in more depth in the Summa. Wings and swords are simply artistic representations of their roles and actions in our world, as messengers and protectors.

  30. 4) Archangels can protect us from evil If Saint Michael and the heavenly host can expel Satan and his minions out of heaven, the archangels can certainly fight against demons tormenting our world and us and protect us from their influence. One of the greatest prayers is the Saint Michael prayer, which for many years was routinely said at the closing of Mass:

  31. St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly hosts,by the power of God,thrust into hell Satan, and all the evil spirits, who prowl about the worldseeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

  32. Archangels still exist today Thankfully, angels do not depend on our belief of them for their existence. God created their immortal spirits at the beginning of time and they will never cease existing for all eternity. We may not see them, hear them, or feel their presence, but they are as real as the screen in front of you. Sometimes they let us know they are here, but most of the time they are busy protecting us from harm without us knowing. Just think what would happen if they weren’t here! Children get it. They understand that angels exist and trust completely that they are present and will pray to them without hesitation. Maybe we need some of that child-like simplicity of heart to renew our belief in these celestial creatures. “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 18:3).

  33. 7 Sanctuaries linked by a straight line- The legendary Sword of St. Michael Gelsomino Del Guercio | May 31, 2017 According to legend, the line represents the blow with which St. Michael sent the devil to hell. The mysterious imaginary line links seven monasteries, from Ireland to Israel. Is it just a coincidence? These seven sanctuaries are very far from each other, and yet they are perfectly aligned.

  34. The Sacred Line of Saint Michael the Archangel represents, according to legend, the blow the Saint inflicted the Devil, sending him to hell. In any case, it is surprising how well these sanctuaries are, in fact, aligned. But the details of such alignment are also astonishing: the three most important sites, Mont Saint Michel in France; the Sacra of San Miguel in Val de Susa; and the Sanctuary of Monte Sant’Angelo in the Gargano are all the same distance one from the other. Some say this is a reminder from the Holy Archangel: the faithful are expected to be righteous, walking the straight path.

  35. If all this was not surprising enough, the Sacred Line also is perfectly aligned with the sunset on the day of the Northern Hemisphere’s Summer Solstice
