Mrs. Robertson’s Christmas Break Updates

Holiday Party

Our holiday party will be Friday, Dec. 20th at 2:00. We will have a snack and play Christmas BINGO! Please let me know if you want to send in a treat!

What about reading next week?

We will be moving on to Smile Mike! The spelling list focuses on long i words that have a sneaky “e.” The list is in the Friday folder if you get a chance to practice over the weekend. Vocabulary words are members and share. Sight words for the upcoming story are: call, how, more, funny, there, so. For comprehension we will revisit making predictions with the story.

We hope you can attend our Christmas Program for music on Thursday, December 12th at 1:45. Our class has been working very hard on the songs to put on a wonderful performance for you!

Language Arts

We worked on past tense verbs this week and letters to Santa were sent today! 

Writing Corner

This week students focused on the trait sentence fluency. Primary grades practiced counting the words in sentences and started writing their own long and short sentences. ~Mrs. Keller

Math Mania

We are working hard on subtraction and skip counting by 2 and 5 to 100. PLEASE work with your kiddo on addition/subtraction facts and skip counting as much as possible.

Star of the Week

Our next star of the week will be Ryleefor the week of Dec. 9-Dec. 13th. We are anxious to see what she has to share with us!

On Friday, we had an assembly put on by the Decatur Public Library where they acted out some books. The kids really enjoyed the show. Be sure to take the green flyer in today’s Friday folder to the library to get some goodies.

Field Trip

Dec. 11th is the field trip. Please be sure to send the signed permission slip and $3.50 for admission by Wed. morning. We leave at 9:15 AM.
