  3. Math Help • To find equivalent fractions: multiply the fraction by 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, etc. • To simplify fractions: divide by 2/2, 3/3, 4/4, etc. • To add or subtract fractions with like denominators, simply add or subtract the numerators. • To add or subtract fractions with different denominators, first find equivalent fractions with like denominators, then add or subtract the numerators.

  4. To multiply fractions: multiply both the numerator and the denominator. • Now, simplify .

  5. To change fractions to decimals: numerator ÷ denominator = decimal • The first two digits of the decimal becomes the percent. • Example: 0.3 = 0.30 = 30%

  6. Improper fractions are fractions with a numerator greater than the denominator. Example: • A mixed number includes a whole number and a fraction. Example: • To turn an improper fraction into a mixed number, numerator ÷ denominator, and the remainder is the new numerator. • To change a mixed number into an improper fraction, multiply the denominator X the whole number, then add the numerator.
