Learning Objectives A learning objective should describe what learners should know or be able to do at the end of a class. ‘By the end of today’s class, you will be able to read and follow a recipe to produce ginger biscuits.’ ‘By the end of today’s class, you will be able to explain the difference between pitch and pace.’

  2. Today you will demonstrate your ability to analyse short texts. You will complete the learning activities for ‘The Old Place.’ See page 7. You will participate in a small group discussion about your group’s chosen poem. You will update your venn diagram.

  3. Today you will practice using the 3 reading strategies. ‘Mountaineer Saves 14.’ Today you will demonstrate your understanding of the toolbox terms. You will complete the learning activities for ‘The Frowning Cliff.’ See page 7. You will write your own simile poem using the model in the folder.
