  1. Our Desert Book By Mr. Jonathan’s AM Class

  2. A gila monster lives in the desert. He’s black and yellow. He bites. When you see it, it bites you. If you see one you should go the other way.

  3. A saguaro cactus lives in the desert. It has arms. It is poky. One hand looks like it is saying hello. It grows a long time. Birds live in the holes and owls, too.

  4. A coyote lives in the desert. It howls. It sneaks around. It likes to lay on rocks.

  5. A snake lives in the desert. It slithers. It likes to stick its tongue out. It bites you.

  6. A spider lives in the desert. It has 8 legs. He makes spider webs. If you see one you might want to go the other way. They like to crawl around.

  7. An owl lives in the desert. It flies. It is awake at night and sleeps in the day. He says “Hoohoo!”

  8. We live in the desert in Laveen, Arizona. It is hot. There was water and it dried up. The desert is cold at night. It doesn’t really rain in the desert, it only thunders.

  9. This book was made 1/31/14 by Mr. Jonathan’s AM class, using their own words and thoughts, as a culmination of our desert unit.
