Sketchup • Sketchup was originally produced as a tool for designers to convey conceptual sketches with the convenience of CAD. • With a shallow learning curve beginners can produce quality 3d models quickly • Sketchup has an extensive tools menu. Most are fairly self explanatory and used frequently, but others will require some practice to perfect. • It also has the ability to produce several interesting render effects from photo realistic ray trace to dry wipe boards.

  3. Step by Step • On your hand out make some notes about each of the screen grabs explaining how to achieve each stage. • By the end you will be able to produce a reasonably complex model and will be skilled in a varied selection of the tools available. • Don’t worry about exact sizes, variation in the models is encouraged and if you think you can push it a bit further extra marks are available for doing so.
