  1. Topics for Essay Two (30%)* • From the plays used in this course, you have to choose ONE protagonist and explain the reasons for your preference. Your essay must include specific references / examples from the play. • Write an essay to compare and contrast the historical background of TWO Renaissance playwrights. Discuss whether their contrasting upbringing affected their works in any way. • If you were to stage any one of the Renaissance plays discussed in this course, which ONEwould you choose and explain the reasons for your choice. * Only choose ONE of the above topics for your Essay Two and the dateline is Week 14

  2. Final Exam (FE) preparation • FE will cover UNIT 4 to UNIT 6 of the module as well as additional notes given during second face to face meeting. • FE will consist of only ESSAY questions. You will be given a list of questions and you need to only choose TWO out of the list. You will be given 1 and a half hour to answer the questions. • Please refer to UNIT 7 of your module for samples of exam questions and answer.

  3. Areas to be covered in the final exam: • Points to remember in relation to the plays (Taming of the Shrew and Dr. Faustus): • the protagonists (specific) and other supporting characters (in general) • the theme • general opinions • Reminder : Essay (only ONE) - Due on Week 14
