  12. When to stop and listen… Eyes & Ears TIMEOUT!!! If I say “Eyes & Ears”, you need to put down your pencil/pen, look at me, and get ready to listen! No talking! If I say “TIMEOUT!!!”, (just like in sports) you need to freeze and stop talking. Chances are I need to explain something important.

  13. What is the grading scale? A = 90-100 B = 80-89 C = 70-79 D = 60-69 F = Below 59 How are grades calculated? Classwork/Labs = 35% Participation (bellwork/notes) = 25% Quizzes and Tests = 25% Projects = 10% Homework = 5% What happens if I catch someone cheating? All the people involved will earn a ZERO on that assignment and may be referred to the office. Remember … It’s ok to give help or hints, but it is NOT ok to give answers!

Any work that was due the day I was absent is due when I return to class. When should I see Ms. Banjavcic for extra help?I should ask questions during class when we have time to work on assignments or make arrangements to come in before or after school. 18. And now…your first activity… • Ms. Banjavcic will divide you into groups and give you a textbook unit number. • Once in groups, have the materials person get a piece of paper, marker and textbooks for your group. • The person who is the writer needs to write the letters of the alphabet on the paper with plenty of space in between each letter. • Open your textbooks to the unit number that was given to your group. • Find a topic/idea/vocab word for each letter of the alphabet. The writer needs to write that word next to the corresponding letter. • You must stay within your unit number and cannot use the glossary or index. • We will share answers as a class and compile a list of the many topics we will be learning about this year. • Write two paragraphs about the topic you are most excited to learn about and why. Which topic sounds the most boring to you and why?
