Prohibition of Electronic Devices • Possession of any electronic device that reproduces, transmits, calculates, or records IS cause for invalidation. • “Possession” is defined as “within arm’s reach,” even if the electronic device is not visible. • Students should not have cell phones in their pockets, clipped to their belts, at their desks, or anywhere they can be easily accessed during testing. • Test administrators and proctors should also turn-off their electronic devices during testing. Test Invalidation Policies and Procedures The appropriate DNS bubble MUST be gridded on a USED document if: • The document is defective. • A student last name, Florida ID number, district number, school number, OR grade level on a label is INCORRECT. • A label has been placed over another label or preprinted information. • The student has an electronic device during testing. • The student is disruptiveor is caught cheating during testing. • Grid only the DNS bubble for the appropriate test. • Test administrator must discuss the situation with the school assessment coordinator before a final invalidation decision is made. Test Invalidation Policies and Procedures (continued) The appropriate DNS Bubble MAY be gridded if: • A student becomes ill and is unable to finish, OR is not allowed the correct amount of time. Consideration: Was the student provided adequate time to respond to the test questions or prompt? Yes – submit the document for scoring No – invalidate that test on the document and handle it accordingly If the validity of the test has not been compromised, you may allow a student to return to the testing room during the same school day for the remainder of time left for the test. Schedule for March 10th and 11th • NINTH GRADE • Will test until approximately 11:30am • Materials will be collected and accounted for • Snacks will be distributed to students in their test rooms. • We will wait for 10th graders to finish • There will be ONE Lunch at approx.12:45 • After lunch, students and teachers will return to their FCAT test rooms for the remainder of the day.   36. Schedule for March 10th and 11th(continued) • TENTH GRADE • BREAK between sessions (10th grade ONLY) • At approximately 10:30, there will be a break between sessions. Snacks will be delivered to your rooms. • Collect ALL test materials when prompted, distribute snacks, ask students to eat their snacks INSIDE the room. They may leave to use restroom. • DO NOT LEAVE TEST MATERIALS UNATTENDED • Once students are back inside rooms, Instructions will begin again to resume testing. • Test will end at approximately 12:15 • Once materials are collected and accounted for, students and teachers will be dismissed for lunch – please wait for the announcement. • Lunch time estimate: 12:45 – 1:15 • After lunch, students and teachers will return to their FCAT test rooms for the remainder of the day. Schedule for March 12th • NINTH AND TENTH GRADE • Will test until approximately 11:30am • Snacks will be distributed to hold students over until lunch. • There will be ONE lunch - we have to wait until Science is done (approx. 12:45) • A determination regarding the schedule for the remainder of the day will be made after the Science test is complete. Reminders for Spring 2009 FCAT:Security • Students may not have any electronic or recording devices at their desks, clipped to their belts, in their pockets, or anywhere they can reach them during testing, even if the devices are turned off or the students do not use them. • If a student is found to be in possession of ANY electronic device(s) during testing, his or her test must be invalidated in order to successfully enforce this policy. • Inappropriate actions by school or district personnel before, during, or after test administration may result in consequences such as test invalidations and/or loss of teaching certification. • Please carefully read the Test Security Policies and Procedures to ensure that you are following the correct procedures. • District assessment coordinators must require that school administrators, school assessment coordinators, test administrators, and proctors sign an FCAT Administration and Security Agreement.
