  2. WESTAR Planning Committee Purpose • Identify air quality issues that have a direct impact on western states • Ensure western concerns are considered in the national debate

Committee Activities • Monthly phone meetings • First Thursday at 1 PM Pacific • Priority issues we are addressing: • Implementation of Exceptional/Natural Event Rule • Woody Biomass/Fuels for Schools • PM2.5 Designations/Implementation • Ozone Designations/Implementation • Revisions to Prescribed and Wildland Fire Policy • Regional Haze Plan Development/Completion • Regional/State Topics • Rural Air Issues – e.g., ozone, oil and gas development, mercury
