  2. Leadership and Mission • Current Co-Chairs: • Adele Malone, Nevada • Cindy Heil, Alaska • Air Directors Liaison: • Alice Edwards, Alaska • Mission: • Identify air quality issues that have a direct impact on western states • Ensure western concerns are considered in the national debate

  3. Current Activities • Monthly Conference Calls (1st Thursday of the month) • Key Tracking Issues: • NAAQS Revisions; Implementation • Infrastructure SIP Requirements • Exceptional Events Rule Implementation; Tracking Events • Regional Haze Rule Issues/Recommendations • Western Transport Issues/Impacts

  4. Recent Planning Committee Actions • Regional Haze Workgroup modified its list of issues with the rule and recommended solutions • Developed a system to track and share exceptional events packages submitted by WESTAR states • Committee members have participated in: • Multi-pollutant infrastructure SIP guidance review • Regional Haze 5-year progress report guidance review • Wild fires/ozone exceptional events meeting in Sacramento

  5. In the Next 6 Months • Open discussion with EPA on RHR Revisions • Go live with exceptional events tracking table • Continue tracking issues; comment as appropriate • Continue dialogue among western states on issues of concern
