  2. Bow The bow of a ship is the front part of a ship.

  3. Anchor The Anchor is a device that can be lowered to the bottom of a body of water by a chain that prevents or limits a ship from moving.

  4. Wheel House The Wheel House is the part of the boat where the boat wheel is located; also called the bridge.

  5. Starboard The right-hand side or direction of a ship.

  6. Port Port is the left-hand side or direction of a ship.

  7. Smoke Stack A smoke stack is a large pipe on a boat that allows for smoke to escape.

  8. Main Deck The main deck is the topmost deck on a ship.

  9. Prow The Prow is the front most part of a ship that cuts through the water.

  10. Gunwale The gunwale is the upper edge of the side of a vessel.

  11. Propeller The propeller is the part of the ship that has blades that spin in order to make the vessel move.

  12. Stern The stern is the back portion of a ship.

  13. Rudder The rudder is a vertical blade on the back of a ship that can be moved to make the ship turn one way or another.

  14. Hull The hull of a ship is the hallow bottom portion of the ship.
