  1. Obtaining CRB clearance in the Faculty of Science

  2. General Guidance Blank CRB forms can be obtained from Room 1.44 James Parsons (World of Work and Skills Support Unit) You do not need to pay for your CRB Three valid forms of identity must be shown (not copies): 1 from group 1 2 from group 1 or 2 1 document must verify your current address
  3. Valid Identify Documents Group 1 Current valid Passport UK or EEA Biometric Residence Permit (UK) Current Driving Licence UK (Full or provisional) Birth Certificate (UK & Channel Islands) Group 2a Current valid Passport (UK, EEA or Non-EEA) Biometric Residence Permit (UK) Birth Certificate (UK & Channel Islands) Marriage/Civil Partnership Certificate (UK) Adoption Certificate (UK) HM Forces ID Card (UK)

Valid Identify Documents * less than three months old ** issued within the past 12 months Group 2b Mortgage Statement (UK) ** Bank/Building Society Statement (UK) * Credit Card Statement (UK) * Financial Statement - e.g. pension, endowment, ISA (UK) ** P45/P60 Statement (UK & Channel Islands) ** Council Tax Statement (UK & Channel Islands) ** Work Permit/Visa (UK) (UK Residence Permit) ** Utility Bill (UK) – Not Mobile Telephone * Benefit Statement – e.g. Child Allowance, Pension * A document from Local Authority giving entitlement (UK & Channel Islands) * EU National ID Card Cards carrying the PASS accreditation logo (UK)

General Guidance We send off your form (not your documents) and the clearance form is sent to your current address You can not just drop the form off 90% can take up to 4 weeks – some will take longer, so YOU MUST ATTEND THE SESSIONS ON FRIDAY! Full guidance is available on the Faculty of Science website under ‘Fitness to Practice’ and then ‘Obtaining CRB Clearance’
  6. Common mistakes The form must be filled in with black ink in capital letters The photocard for your driving licence without the paper counterpart is not a valid form of identity Some documents such as bank statements are time specific, and must be within the last three months Internet statements are not valid documents Always check if you are unsure!
