  1. How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

  2. Types of technology • For our production of our trailer and promotion we used several different types of technology including digital cameras, the internet for sites like YouTube and DaFont, the blogs, Adobe premiere and photoshop and sound equipment as well as word and powerpoint. • It was important to use a lot of new media because of the advances on digital technology and web 2.0

  3. Internet • Websites such as facebook, twitter and myspace are good for using free promotion through social networking, especially as the main users fit into our target audience. Using the internet to its advantage meant we could use free advetsing through uch websites that aloud us to create a buzz without having to pay for advert tabs on the sides of websites. • YouTube allowed us to virally market our trailer and the blog was useful in communicating with each other and helping to develop one another's ideas.

  4. Adobe Premiere and Photoshop • Both adobe programmes were essential in the success of our trailer and ancillary texts. We made our whole trailer using Premiere, we used it in the first year so were aware of how to use it and what it could do, however this year we were left more independent and experimented more with it. • I already had a lot of experience with Photoshop from other courses I did, it was useful being able to use it to create our magazine and poster.

  5. Word and Powerpoint • Word and Powerpoint were good for presenting our work. We were able to link them up through the blogs and it made the blogs look neater and kept our work more organised.

  6. Other technologies • Digital cameras, sound kit, titles, copy right free music and sound effects were also important in the creation of our trailer and promotion package. Titles especially were very important in trailers and we aimed to follow the conventions of typical social realism genre titles.
