  2. Michael Nelson -Professor of Environmental Ethics at OSU -previously at Michigan State and Ohio State University -Co Author with Kathleen Dean Moore of Moral Ground – a collection of over eighty essays on the moral responsibility of individuals and communities.

  3. Anne Schuster & Claire Meints -Anne: Chair of the school board. Part of the sustainability steering committee. -Goal for 2013-14 is to make all schools green schools. -Claire: CHS graduate of 2010. Working with Carbon Washington to create a carbon tax in WA.

  4. Rob Cornell -Owner of Tesla model S – fully electric car -The creation of the Tesla motor company is a step towards more widespread and accessible electric cars -The creator of Tesla ElonMunsk plans to have a third tier of electric cars that will be released within the next 5 years that will be around $30,000-40,000

  5. Erynnevan Zee -Senior at CV – second year co president of SEA club (Students for Environmental Awareness) with Michael Boggess. -Past SEA club projects include a redesign of the CV recycling program and the creation of carpool spaces.

  6. Adam Kirsch – CV Solar Panels -Installed in June 2006 – 2000 Watts of Solar Panels -Footwise bought the solar panels and had them mounted at CV, and sold the panels to the school after selling back the electricity they produced. -Extra power generated is sold back into the grid. -This week the panels have generated 113 Kilowatt Hours of electricity (solar4schools site)

  7. Crescent Valley Arboretum and the Oak Swale -The CV Arboretum and Oak Swale act as resident carbon sequesters. -By supporting and maintaining these, CV reduces its carbon footprint while creating natural spaces to beautify the campus and learning environment.

  8. Composting/Recycling -CV has always had a regular and active recycling program. Students are regularly taught the importance of recycling by APES students. -Composting has become a goal of the 2012-13 year, and CV has achieved this goal implementing and dispersing composting bins throughout the school.

  9. Conserving resources -Turn off light signs in bathrooms and classrooms -Using recycled one sided paper as scratch paper -Reminders within bathrooms to conserve paper towels -Carpool passes to incentivize the reduction of individual vehicles
