Vision IUPUI will serve as a sustainability leader among higher education institutions and as a national model for urban sustainability in both academic offerings and campus operations. The IUPUI campus will be a place where faculty, students, and staff are engaged in research, teaching, and learning to advance knowledge about urban sustainability and its practice.
Energy Goals • Conduct a greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and update annually • Develop a GHG action plan – set a reduction goal • Quantify energy usage on campus • Improve energy efficiency of buildings, vehicles, equipment • Evaluate alternative and renewable energy sources • Hold a campus energy challenge
Built Environment Goals • Pursue Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification • Conserve, maintain, and increase green space on campus • Develop bicycle paths Progress • Participating in Tree Campus USA program • Partnering with Indiana Wildlife Federation – Campus Sustainable Landscape program
