Retreat Outcomes • Describe some national best practices to improve graduation rates • Review and reflect on CSULA retention and graduation rate data from institutional, college, and academic program perspectives to inform future action steps • Begin to explore an approach to the CSU Graduation Initiative at CSULA that integrates institutional, divisional, college and program level efforts • Review the status of advising discussions, efforts and plans between the time of the CPR and EER visits (April 2009 to the present moment) in preparation for the EER visit.

Introduction • CSU Graduation Initiative • CSU Graduation Initiative at CSULA • Move away from compliance to improving the educational experience for all students. • Use an educational effectiveness approach-evidence based, intentional alignment, supported by tools and processes and informed by good learning practices.

B. What are some assumptions and institutional/college/academic program level behaviors that other institutions have developed to positively impact student success and time to graduation that may be adapted here at CSULA?
