Directions: You will break into three groups to respond to questions about your culture homework. • Time: 10 minutes • Materials: GOOSE paper, pencil, February homework • Expectations: Each person in the group shares an idea to help the group produce a response to the given questions. • Roles: Time keeper, recorder, presenter, encourager

  3. Break into 3 groups Group 1: Sports and Olympic Medals Group 2: Sports and Geography Group 3: Weather Patters • Decide on roles: • Time Keeper (10 minutes) • Recorder • Presenter • Encourager

  4. Questions Group 1: What do you notice about the amount of medals earned by each country represented in your group? What factors influence whether or not a team earns a medal in the Olympics? Group 2: What role does geography play in determining the sports played in your countries? What else do you think influences the sports your countries play? Group 3: Compare the weather around the world. What surprises you? Which weather is most similar to Atlanta? Which is most different?
