  15. MAN 3301: Management of Human Resources Chapter 5 What is Job Design Job Scope and Job Depth – Job scope is the number and variety of tasks performed by the person in the job. Job depth is the freedom an employee has to plan and organize work, set the work pace, and move around & communicate.

  16. MAN 3301: Management of Human Resources Chapter 5 End Result of Job Analysis & Design Job Description – A form describing the job in general. It gives information on the “place” of the job in the organizations hierarchy, summarizes the job, & lists the “Essential Functions” of the job.

MAN 3301: Management of Human Resources Chapter 5 End Result of Job Analysis & Design Job Specifications – A form describing the qualifications for the job (education, experience, licenses), the knowledge, skills and abilities to do the job, the physical & mental requirements for the job, and a description of the work environment. Many times this is a part of the Job Description.
