  1. Core Values

  2. Important Leadership Lessonsfrom My Past • My childhood culture taught me that the individual is autonomous and responsible for their actions. Short on warm fuzzies, but long on reliable friends. • Both my parents preferred to work alone. It rubbed off on me. • Working with churches in Aomori has taught me never to assume that even long-time Christians know basic Bible teaching. • OMF has taught me the importance of being people-centered.

  3. What kind of Leader am I? • I lead by example, not programming. • I teach concepts - “Why”, not “How”. • I emphasize Christian worldview, not current Christian lifestyle. • I aim to produce 24/7 Christians who function in society, not program-oriented members who can’t function outside the Christian group. • In short, I’m not much of a church planter.

  4. What leader is my role model? Jesus. • Jesus. Never rushed, never in a flap. • Patient, incisive. • Never hands out busy work.Never superficial. • Re-creates the person to live in God, not in church. • Boy, have I got a long way to go.
