Design of Mockup Detector • 대형 RENO 검출기 제작에 앞서 약 20배 축소된(체적대비) 소형 검출기(mockup detector) 제작 •  RENO 검출기의 디자인을 기본 •  아크릴 용기 제작 및 long term stability 와 light transmittance 테스트 •  방사능 소스를 이용한 calibration system 테스트 •  Light calibration system 테스트 •  Mineral Oil (buffer tank)에서의 PMT performance 테스트 •  LS (Liquid Scintillator) handling system 테스트 • 2008년 5월 말 ~ 6월 초 검출기 조립완료 •  약 90%의 제작 주문 완료

Design of Mockup Detector (MC Simulation) Top view • 32 개의 10인치 PMT(Hamamatsu) 사용 (top/bottom 6/7, side 18) - surface coverage 10% • Target radius variation: - 10, 20, 30cm • Catcher thickness variation: - 40, 50, 60, 70cm • Buffer thickness • Source 를 사용하는 경우 가능하면 두께가 얇을수록 좋음. • 10인치 PMT의 크기(31cm)를 고려해서 40cm가 적당.
