Citizen or Bushranger? • Top photograph – Northcotecarpenter Charles Verso became a local councillor in 1883 and Northcote Mayor in 1887. • Bottom photograph – James Kenniff and his brother Patrick were the last Australian bushrangers. They stole horses and cattle in Queensland from 1895-1902.

  3. Citizen or Bushranger? • Top photograph –John Fuller aka Dan ‘Mad Dog’ Morgan was a notorious bushranger of NSW and Victoria in the 1860s. • Bottom photograph –Richard Tobin was the first Northcote Headmaster and a founder of the Northcote community.

Citizen or Bushranger? • Top photograph – This is the Honorable Francis Beaver, local politician and owner of a large estate in Gladstone Avenue, Northcote. • Bottom photograph – this is the most famous Victorian bushranger of all…Ned Kelly who was tried and hanged for his crimes in Melbourne Gaol in 1880.
