  1. Opening Title Sequences Of Thriller Movies By Daniel Sheen

  2. Brick – Scene 1– Part 1 The first thing the audience sees, is the logo for Focus Features, because they want people to know that they were involved with this. There is a string instrument, playing chords in the background, slowly. This is then followed by the sound of some sort of charms, blowing in the wind, with a black canvas. The string instrument quiets down. It then fades into a panned shot leading towards a close up of Brendan’s feet. Next, a extreme close up of Brendan’s eyes is used. In this close up, the focus changes, slowly revealing hid eyes. A long shot is used, to show how far the two characters are apart. This is made affective, because they are on the edge of the frame.

  3. Brick – Scene One– Part 2 and Opening To Scene Two A shot, reverse, shot is used; switching between parts of the Emily’s body, and Brendan. The first shot in this sequence is a mid shot of Brendan. However, Brendan’s hands cover half of his face. It then goes to a mid shot of the Emily’s high heels, and back to the mid shot of Brendan, but slowly zooming in. A close up the Emily’s head, but her head on the far left, showing her hair stretching across the rest of the frame. Back to mid shot of Brendan. Finally, the Emily’s hand and bracelet. At the end of this shot, the music stops. Parallel editing is used here; the hand is the only thing in shot, and is stretched out from the rest of her body. This changes into Emily stretching her arm across the frame, placing a note in Brendan’s locker.

  4. Brick – Scene Two At the start of this scene, a bell rings, to indicate it is set in a high school. Emily post the note, then her arm pulls out of the left side of the screen, rather than just dropping her hand. This makes it seem like she is standing quite far away from the locker. This makes the audience feel there is a bit of tension here, and she does not want to get near the locker.
