  2. Titles • The first text or Titles used for this film where black and white which is very typical to Thriller film opening title sequences for example se7en.Mainly because it doesn't give much away and it makes it dramatic and mysterious.

  3. Camera shots • The most impacting camera shot used in the opening titles is the close up of the bands around the dead girls hand .This shot is what tells us it’s a flash back and not what is actually happening now in the film because it cuts from a close extreme close up of her hand dead and then alive which tells us what we just saw was in the past. This also shocks the viewer and we are left wondering for the rest of the film who is she and how she died which focuses the audience.

  4. Location/Setting • The first location we see is some sort of artificial river drainage basin line which looks like somewhere someone would realistically dump a human body. This makes the viewer relate it to them because it’s not unrealistic it makes them think this could happen which builds up fear and excitement (a main aim of all thriller films).

  5. Costume and Appearance • From his appearance we can guess that he is probably an average teenager with a subdued personality I think he maybe a bit of a loner as his clothes aren’t fashionable. They have chosen him to wear glasses which indicates to us that he is clever .His scruffy appearance shows that he doesn’t really care how he looks and so doesn’t really care of what others think of him.
