  2. 1. Purpose / Problem • Identify a problem. • What do I want to find out? • What is my main question?

  3. 2. Hypothesis • What you think will happen. • Make an intelligent guess. • You must be able to test the hypothesis.

  4. 3. Materials • What materials do you need? • Make a list of all materials. • List EVERYTHING used and the amounts. • Use the Metric System

  5. 4. Procedure • What did you do to answer the question or solve the problem? • List the steps in the exact order in which they were done.

  6. 5. Collect Data / Observations • What did you see happening while you did your project? • What did you measure? • Record the date, day, time and observation in your log book.

  7. 6. Results • What happened? • When you did your experiment, what did you observe, what data did you collect? • Show results in your log book and on charts and graphs.

  8. 7. Conclusion • What did you learn? • What do you know about your question, hypothesis and predictions now? • Did the results of your experiment support your hypothesis?
