Upgrade of Engineering Services • Half diamond interchange and CD roads relieving congestion on the N1 • Upgrade of Mispel Road • Extension of Uys Krige, linking Mispel Road • Upgrading of Carl Cronje and intersections • Transportation Management studies in advance of BRT • US implementation of Safe Bus Route system • Upgrade of bulk sewer to Bellville Treatment works.

  12. Financial Benefits to the City 1. Capex • R28.1bn in new business sales • R12.1 through direct effects • R10.3bn will be gross value add to the country • New jobs with increased house hold income of R4.2bn 2. Opex • R20.9bn will be generated annually through the operation of the buildings of which R12bn will be through direct effects • BICL’s • It is expected that R290m will be contributed to BICL’s 4. Rates & Taxes • It is estimated that R5.2bn will be contributed towards Rates and Taxes – NPV over a 25 year period.

Broader Socio-Economic Benefits • 32 000 new job opportunities will be created during construction • During operation 29 000 jobs will be created • Improving transport networks • Creating green spaces and pedestrian linkages • Creating a bigger demand for the IRT System – ensure a better return • 6. HOPE project brings to the City a vision of initiative and support in its service offerings to its citizens

  14. University of Stellenboschas a Contributing Entity • Second Campus to Stellenbosch = 14 000 students • Strengthening the regional economy of the area 3. Establishment of a Corporate Financial Business Hub (business and research) 4. An integrated development to adjacent developments (eg. Galleria) 5. Contributions to the City’s coffers in terms of Bulk Services Levies, Rates, Taxes and TMP 6. Catalyst for Public Transport (Buss route services to assist students) 7. Development will be to the financial benefit of both parties 8. Income generated will be re-invested in further development 9. Increase the CCT’s tertiary education market and render academic collaboration
