  2. What is Swainson’s Hawk? • The Swainson’s Hawk is a big buteo hawk that can be found in Northern Mexico, Western United States, and Canada, and Brazil.

  3. Looks • This is a large bird with a 4 and a half wingspan and a weight around 15 lbs. It looks like the picture on the right.

  4. Habitat • This bird lives in the Central Valley Region of California and other Western parts of the world.

  5. Foods • The Swainson’s Hawk is really fond of locusts.

  6. Enemies • Other territorial hawks that live nearby will fight. • Video

  7. Protection • This bird is just like all birds. It justs fights!

  8. Reproduction • These birds migrate. When they reach their nests, they lay eggs after about 10 days of settling. They have around 2 eggs.

  9. Threatening • Hawks and eggs can die of traffic, illegal shooting, electrocutation, egg predators, weather, and common, unexplained infertility.

  10. Things to do • People should not use cars any more. Global warming can cause the weather to go crazy. Pollution can pollute the air.
