  2. Invocation: David Hunter - For this food, we thank Thee, Lord, for friends and family. Grant that with Thy guidance, we may help more folks who need our help to better hear and see. Amen. Vittles: Sliced beef tenderloin, Hash brown potatoes, Vegetable, Salad & Toppings, Carrot cake. There were 20 members present, no guests.

  3. Last Saturday afternoon Lion Bob Suter passed away

  4. Board meeting: No minutes. There were only three members present.

  5. Announcements: The International focus will be on reading. Herb Bail needs help collecting glasses. Jay Hoeflinger will report on Sight and Sound at our next meeting.

  6. Birthdays: Byron Balbach 12 May

  7. Lottery: Bob Tuchel won it again - $10

  8. Look at that! Someone dropped a lottery ticket…

  9. Musta been Weldon Garrelts when he got up to talk…

  10. Weldon Garrelts gave us the word on Tootsie Pop Day. Tootsie Pop days will be May 19 & 20. The Walk for Sight report will be given after Tootsie Pop days.

  11. The locations at County Market have been canceled. Too few members signed up to support it. Starter kits for Lions working Tootsie Pop Days will be placed at each location by 9 AM. Aprons and cans will be available and we have a good supply of Tootsie Pops.

  12. Weldon will tour the sites regularly during both days. Please remain at your site until he comes to pick up your materials. Cards explaining Lions Club will also be available at your sites.

  13. Now, it’s time for our Know Your Lion segment, an unscripted interview of Paul Kunkel by Frank Duff.

  14. And since it’s unscripted, there are no words to describe it.

  15. “And that’s how it was.”

  16. Mister Twister, alias Tom Yaxley, asked Sam McGrew to carry the bucket. What choice did Sam have?

  17. And right away, the Twister fined Bob Tuchel for having won the lottery. Well, at least Bob was able to keep some of it…

  18. And then he got everybody at Byron Balback’s table for sitting with the birthday boy.

  19. No, Paul, you can’t take money out of the bucket!

  20. See, just drop it in like Omer does.

  21. President Ted Gonsiorowski got fined for some imaginary offense or other…

  22. Rich King bragged on his son’s outstanding trumpet playing,

  23. and then had no money to pay for it, so good ol’ Sam loaned him a dollar. We suspect that Sam may have taken it out of the bucket…

  24. We’ve no idea why Charlie Osborne got fined.

  25. Or what might have been Gordie’s indiscretion.

  26. Kathy Struck paid for bragging about one of her young relatives who earned a post-graduate degree.

  27. Ted auctioned off another package of Marvin Paulsen’s asparagus off. Dave Hunter suggested that Paulsen’s Monopoly was Marvin gardens.

  28. The more perceptive Lions enjoyed Hunter’s joke, but…

  29. That humorless ol’ Twister fined Dave anyway!

  30. Now, he wants to take it all back, but nooooo-o-o-o. Too late!

  31. And he blushes in shame as the tries to eat his own words.

  32. Our June 19 meeting will be at the Regent Ball Room.

  33. Don't forget now...

  34. And Guys, let’s not forget Mother’s Day Next Sunday May 12
